Your SimplePart Control Panel gives you flexible tools to set pricing for the products on your parts, accessories, or merchandise website. You can use these settings to match your in-store pricing, follow MSRP, or create your own custom pricing model.
💡 Tip: If you plan to list your entire catalog at MSRP, you don’t need to make any changes on the Pricing page. Your site will automatically display MSRP by default.
Step 1: Go to your Pricing page
Log in to the SimplePart Control Panel
From the Settings drop-down menu, click Pricing
You’ll see two sections on this page:
Media Sets for this Website: Lists the product catalogs displayed on your site (for example, Parts, Accessories, or Merchandise).
Price Sets: Shows your current pricing configurations. By default, your site uses MSRP pricing, but you can create your own custom pricing here.
Step 2: Create or edit a price set
A Price Set defines how products are priced on your website. You can create multiple Price Sets—for example, one for your main website and another for marketplaces like eBay.
To add or edit a Price Set:
Click Add New to create a new Price Set (or Edit to modify an existing one).
Give it a clear name, such as Cost Plus 25% – 10/25/23.
Adding a date helps track when a Price Set was created or updated.
Click Update to save.
To delete a Price Set, highlight it and click Delete.
⚠️ Note: Don’t delete a Price Set that’s currently assigned to Media. First unassign it from the Media section, then delete.
Step 3: Set your pricing tiers
Pricing Tiers let you apply different markups or discounts based on product price ranges.
Select the Price Set you want to edit.
In the Pricing Tiers section, click Add New.
Click Edit on the right-hand side to set your price ranges.
Define the Low and High price range, then enter either a Cost-x or List-x multiplier.
Click Update to save.
Example: List-x model
If you want to discount MSRP by 5% for products under $300:
Low = $0.01
High = $300.00
List-x = 0.95 (this means 95% of list price, or 5% off MSRP)
Example: Cost-x model
If you want to price at 25% above cost for products under $300:
Low = $0.01
High = $300.00
Cost-x = 1.25 (this means 125% of your cost)
💡 Recommendation: Most dealers use a “Cost+x” model, but you can choose whichever model fits your pricing strategy. If you’re not sure which to use, contact our Client Services or Dealer Strategy teams for guidance.
Step 4: Assign your price set to media
Once you’ve created a Price Set with tiers, assign it to the product catalog(s) you want it to apply to:
Under Media Sets for this Website, click Edit for the desired catalog (Parts, Accessories, etc.).
Choose the Price Set you want to assign.
Click Update to save.
Step 5: Review and adjust
You can review your pricing anytime by visiting the Pricing page in your Control Panel. Adjust tiers or add new Price Sets as your business strategy evolves.
💡Tip: If you have an Advanced or PRO package, our Dealer Strategy Team can help create a pricing strategy that supports your sales and profitability goals.
