Some U.S. states have introduced delivery fees that apply to online retail orders shipped to customers within their borders. Your online store includes settings to help manage these automatically when required.
Below are the current state-specific delivery fees supported on the platform:
Colorado retail delivery fee
A Colorado Retail Delivery Fee applies to U.S. retailers selling tangible goods delivered by vehicle to Colorado consumers—regardless of whether the delivery originates in Colorado or another state, and whether or not your business owns the vehicle used for delivery.
Your online store can automatically charge this fee to orders with a Colorado shipping address.
The fee will not apply to orders marked as Local Pickup
When applied, it will display in Order Notes as “Colorado Retail Delivery Fee applied to shipping”
If your business would like to opt in to this fee, please contact support.
⚠️ Important: Your business is responsible for remitting collected fees and taxes to the proper taxing authority. For questions about your tax obligations, please consult your tax advisor.

Minnesota retail delivery fee
Starting July 1, 2024, a Retail Delivery Fee of 50¢ applies to retail transactions of $100 or more delivered to customers in Minnesota. “Retail delivery” means delivery to a person in Minnesota of certain taxable items as part of a retail sale.
If your store is located in Minnesota, this fee is automatically applied to eligible orders of $100 or more as of 9 a.m. CT, July 1, 2024.
If your business would like to opt out of this fee, please contact support.
For more details, visit the Minnesota Department of Revenue website.
⚠️ Important: Check your local requirements
Sales tax laws for online orders vary by region. While traditionally you were only required to collect tax from customers in your own state, many regions now require businesses to collect tax from out-of-state buyers as well.
Be sure to confirm your current requirements and exemptions with your accounting department or local tax authority to stay compliant. SimplePart LLC does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. These features are intended for calculating local e-commerce sales taxes per dealer preference only. Dealers are responsible for remitting any taxes collected to the appropriate tax authorities. Please consult your own tax, legal, or accounting advisor for any questions about your local e-commerce sales tax requirements.
