Your Control Panel dashboard includes a breakdown of Visits by source — including Shopping Ads, Search Ads, SEO, Email, National Website, and Dealer Website. Here’s what each category means and how that traffic is tracked.
| Source | Type | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Shopping Ads | Paid (SEM) | Product listings with images and prices |
| Search Ads | Paid (SEM) | Text-based Google ads |
| SEO | Organic | Free traffic from search results |
| Campaign-based | Visitors from marketing emails | |
| National Website | OEM-driven | Traffic from the brand’s national site |
| Dealer Website | Referral | Visitors from your main dealership site |
🛒 Shopping ads
Shopping ads are paid placements that feature a product image, title, price, and your dealership name. They often appear:
At the top of Google search results
In the Shopping tab
On partner sites
These ads are part of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and are designed to drive high-intent shoppers directly to product pages on your site. Learn more about advertising.
🔍 Search ads
Search ads are also paid placements, but unlike Shopping ads, they appear as text-based ads within search results. They display when a user’s search matches specific keywords you’re bidding on (for example, “Subaru brake pads near me”). These are also classified as SEM traffic in your dashboard.
🌱 SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
SEO visits come from unpaid, or organic, search results. These visitors find your site naturally through search engines like Google or Bing — not through paid advertising. SimplePart optimizes your site’s structure and content to help your pages appear prominently in these organic listings, no matter what package you have.
This category tracks visitors who reach your site through links in email campaigns, such as promotional messages or follow-ups from your dealership. Traffic is tagged automatically when users click through from those emails.
🌐 National website
If your OEM program includes a national parts website, visits from that site to your dealership’s parts store are grouped under this category. It represents traffic from the broader national network driven to your individual site.
🚗 Dealer website
These are visitors who land on your online parts store by clicking links on your main dealership website — such as a “Shop Parts Online” or “Order Parts” button. It helps you see how much traffic is coming from your primary dealership site versus external sources.
