If you have received either an email notice from SimplePart or a notice in the Control Panel that your DNS records need to be updated, please review this article. If you have not received a notice, your website does not need to be updated.
To keep your SimplePart website secure, reliable, and PCI-compliant, we have upgraded our underlying infrastructure. This upgrade requires a small DNS update on your side.
To get started, you must submit a request using our support form so we can provide the correct DNS instructions for your site.
How to submit your DNS update request
Please use the Submit a request form linked at the top of this page and follow these exact steps:
- Open the Submit a request form
- Under What do you need help with?, select Other
- Select SimplePart Issue – DNS Update
- Include your SimplePart website URL
- Example:
parts.example.comorwww.example.com
- Example:
Once submitted, our team will review your site setup and respond with step-by-step DNS instructions specific to your domain.
What changes will need to be made
Your required DNS update depends on how your site is configured.
If your site uses a subdomain
Example: parts.example.com
Update the CNAME record to a new CNAME value we will provide.
If your site uses a root domain
Example: www.example.com
You will need to update two records:
Root A Record →
72.28.104.100- Update the www CNAME to a new CNAME value we will provide
If your DNS provider supports ANAME or ALIAS records, you may instead point the root domain directly to the new CNAME we provide.
We will confirm the correct option for your setup when we respond to your request.
How long this takes
- Making the DNS change usually takes 5–15 minutes for an IT or web provider
- DNS propagation may take up to 24 hours, depending on your provider
Your site will remain live during this process.
