Real-Time Shipping (RTS) connects your SimplePart website to UPS, FedEx, or USPS accounts to provide live shipping rates based on product dimensions, weight, and destination ZIP codes. Required for Subaru and Lexus dealers, RTS automates carrier selection, improves shipping estimate accuracy, and allows handling fees. Setup needs active carrier accounts and sharing credentials via a secure link. RTS is currently U.S.-only (not available in Canada or other regions).
Real-Time Shipping (RTS) connects your SimplePart website directly to your shipping carriers to calculate live shipping rates for your customers. Instead of using flat-rate estimates, RTS automatically retrieves rates from your carrier accounts, ensuring accurate pricing and a smoother checkout experience.
❗Note: Real-Time Shipping is required for all Subaru USA and Lexus USA dealers before your site can go live. This is an OEM requirement, not a SimplePart one.
What RTS does
RTS pulls live shipping costs from your UPS, FedEx, or USPS business accounts based on:
Product dimensions and weights (provided by the OEM and/or MOTOR data)
Destination ZIP code
Carrier service levels and rates
RTS will automatically calculate at checkout and show your customer the most affordable option, plus any handling or markup fees you choose to include.
RTS helps you:
Provide more accurate shipping estimates
Save time by automating carrier selection
Increase profit margins by adding a handling fee if desired
RTS is free to use and included with every SimplePart package.
What you’ll need
Before setup, make sure you have active business accounts with one or more of the following carriers:
UPS
FedEx
USPS (not through Stamps.com)
Once you’re ready, we’ll provide you with a secure link to share your carrier credentials. You can safely change your password after setup is complete.
Depending on the carrier, you’ll need to provide:
FedEx
Username
Password
Account number
UPS
Username
Password
Account number
Do you have a freight account? (Yes/No)
If you use Worldwide Express, UPS CampusShip, or WorldShip, you'll also provide:
UPS invoice number
Invoice date
Invoice total or amount due (not required for CampusShip)
UPS control ID
UPS shipper number (account ID)
You can usually get this information from your shipping representative and your most recent invoice.
If you ship through a third-party carrier
If you use a third-party logistics provider and don't have a direct UPS or FedEx account in your dealership's name, contact SimplePart support before filling out the RTS form. We'll help you gather the right information from your carrier representative and walk you through connecting the accounts.

RTS relies on product weights and dimensions from the OEM or MOTOR database to calculate accurate rates.
If an item doesn’t have this data, your website will fall back to your preset Shipping Rates Table.
You can still contact the customer if additional shipping costs apply.
RTS is currently available only for U.S. dealers.
If your carrier requires additional setup details (such as third-party integration permissions), we’ll let you know during setup.
