Coupons are a great way to drive traffic, increase order volume, and encourage repeat customers. You can create, activate, and manage coupons right from your Control Panel.
Types of coupons
Product coupon
Product coupons apply to specific products or groups of products.
Force-applied: They don’t require any input from the customer — discounts are automatically applied.
Flexible targeting: You can apply them to one, many, or all products in your catalog.
Exclusions: Certain products (like ECUs or catalytic converters) can be excluded from discounts.
❗Note: Product coupons can only be created by the SimplePart Catalog Team at the Tier-1 level and will automatically apply to all participating dealer sites (Tier-3).
Shipping coupon
Shipping coupons apply at checkout and can:
Offer free or discounted shipping
Be force-applied or require a code at checkout
Include minimum basket values or maximum discount limits
Example: “Free Shipping on orders over $100 with code FREESHIP.”
Broad coupon
Broad coupons apply to the entire basket (excluding tax and shipping).
Can apply to all parts, all accessories, or specific product categories
Can be set as force-applied or code-based
Example: “$15 off carts over $100 with code 15OFF.”
How coupons work in SimplePart
Product-level coupons
Applied at the catalog level (Tier-1), then flow down to all associated dealer sites
Must be created by the SimplePart Catalog Team
Don’t support minimum order requirements or redemption limits
Basket-level coupons
Created and managed by the individual dealer site (Tier-3)
Can be force-applied or entered manually by customers
May include minimum order amounts or redemption limits
Can be set up by your team or by SimplePart on your behalf
Why activate coupons?
Coupons can significantly boost sales and customer engagement. Dealers who run promotions through SimplePart often see 3x–4x their normal order volume during campaign periods.
Running periodic promotions or emailing customers exclusive coupon codes helps:
Attract new buyers
Encourage repeat purchases
Increase average order value
Strengthen customer loyalty
How to create and activate a coupon
In your Control Panel, go to Settings → Coupons
Click Add New Coupon
-
Fill out the required fields:
Coupon Name: Internal name for your tracking
Type: Product, Shipping, or Broad
Discount Details: Flat amount or percentage
Code: The text customers will enter (if applicable)
Start and End Dates: Define the promotion window
Eligibility Rules: Minimum order total, applicable products, etc.
Click Save to activate the coupon
💡Tip: Always test your coupon by placing a mock order to ensure the discount applies as expected.
Tracking coupon performance
Once your coupon is active, you can monitor its success on the Reports page.
Go to Reports → Orders & Sales → Coupon Performance
Review total redemptions, total discount amount, and resulting revenue
Use this data to adjust future promotions or identify what offers resonate most with your customers
You can also review how coupons perform by monitoring order activity after a promotion. Comparing order volume and total revenue before and after a coupon runs can help you understand its impact.
